After suffering a knee fracture in December, Kobe Bryant was ruled out for at least five weeks. As a result of the injury, Bryant has only played in six games thus far this season and has seen another popular athlete surpass him as the most-liked athlete on Facebook according to Houston Mitchell of the L.A. Times on Feb. 10:
Over the past few years, Bryant has grown his popularity through a number of different social media networks. Bryant dominated the competition from other professional athletes on Facebook until John Cena surged past him recently.
Along with his presence on Facebook, Bryant has also become very active on Twitter and Instagram over the past year or so. Although Bryant doesn't tweet or post as many pictures as other prominent athletes, the NBA superstar lets his presence be known and can set the Twittersphere on fire with a single tweet.
Once Bryant returns from the latest injury, the five-time NBA champion might be able to reclaim his throne on Facebook, but at this point in time he'll have to use it as added motivation to return to the floor for the Los Angeles Lakers.
