WWE star says Chris Benoit will 'never' get inducted into WWE HOF

Former WWE official, and the former voice of the WWE, Jim Ross emphatically declared that former WWE champion Chris Benoit will never be inducted into the WWE HOF. No wrestlers conjures up more of a sickening feeling than Chris Benoit. However, some wrestling fans still feel that Benoit should be inducted into the WWE HOF. On Tuesday December 27th, Jim Ross made the following comments about a possible induction:

"Chris Benoit will never be inducted into WWE HOF. Great wrestler but horrific ending to his life overrides career."

I absolutely agree with Jim Ross. He's 100% correct with these comments. The Benoit tragedy was a horrific moment in the lives of everyone that knew the Benoit family. It's still a sensitive topic for family members and the close friends of both Nancy and Chris Benoit.

In the summer of 2007, Benoit killed his wife and young son before hanging himself. Over the years, some have argued that the years of head trauma and steroids abuse could have played a major role in Benoit's actions. There's no doubt that head trauma and steroids do have a severely negative impact on the body. However, they do not excuse what Benoit did and they do not provide any relief to those who were hurt by his actions.

In the ring, Benoit was an incredibly talented wrestler. But, his in-ring career does not dismiss his final actions of his life. Even if he was the greatest WWE wrestler ever, there would be no logical reason for the WWE to induct him. His controversial death would be a PR nightmare for the WWE and the McMahon family if they were to induct him.

The WWE has made an effort to distance themselves from the Benoit name and I don't see them ever changing this stance. Hopefully, wrestling fans will stop asking about Benoit getting into the WWE HOF and his name can fade into irrelevancy so that everyone, who was close to this tragedy, can finally have some semblance of peace.
