WWE star Jack Swagger arrested while in possession of pot; charged with DUI

After a taping of WWE “Smackdown” at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, Miss., WWE star Jack Swagger was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence, TMZ reported on Feb. 20. Swagger, whose real name is Jacob Hager, had marijuana in his possession.

Sources told TMZ that the Elimination Chamber winner was pulled over for speeding when he left the Mississippi Coast Coliseum where he had just finished a WWE “Smackdown” taping. The officer who pulled Jack Swagger over for speeding made the determination that Swagger was under the influence, and a search of his car revealed that Swagger had pot in his possession. Swagger was taken into custody by local sheriffs.

Jack Swagger, a former WWE World Heavyweight champion, was charged with driving under the influence of an illegal substance, marijuana possession, and speeding, which are all misdemeanors. Swagger was released on his recognizance.

In a brief statement to TMZ, WWE said, “Mr. Swagger is responsible for his own personal actions.”

Swagger returned to the WWE earlier this month after a long leave of absence, and he has quickly skyrocketed to the top of the WWE. Jack Swagger will battle Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania.
