WWE Monday Night Raw on Jan. 21 focused on the upcoming Royal Rumble battle royal match, but Big Show also came out and made some comments about his appearance at the PPV on Sunday. Big Show announced he will fight Alberto Del Rio for the World Championship at the event.
Alberto Del Rio won the world championship two weeks ago from Big Show in a last man standing match. The rematch at the Royal Rumble pay per view will also be a falls count anywhere match.
Interestingly, the reason that Del Rio won the title to begin with was because Big Show's contract was coming to an end and was taking too long to come to an agreement. Now that Big Show has officially re-signed with the company, there might be a chance for him to regain his title.
However, Alberto Del Rio has really gotten over with the fans as a face and new champion in the WWE. With his new popularity, and the eventual heel turn for Randy Orton, it might be smarter to keep the title on Del Rio for now. Plus, with Dolph Ziggler holding the Money in the Bank briefcase, it makes more sense for a face champion.
The WWE Royal Rumble airs on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 8 p.m. EST on pay per view.
