The WWE pre-taped their weekly “WWE Smackdown” show on Oct. 22 and had their final push to convince people to buy their “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view event on Sunday. Here is a look at this week’s “WWE Smackdown” spoilers.
The show opened with Triple H in the ring with Michael Cole. This was a sit-down interview, similar to what the two have been doing on WWE.com for the past few weeks. He said they fired six people for helping Big Show hack the show last week. He also said Big Show has filed a lawsuit but is irrelevant and still fired. When he started talking about the Daniel Bryan match at “Hell in a Cell,” Bryan interrupted and said he would prove Triple H wrong.
In the first match, The Usos beat the Wyatt Family. The end came when The Miz attacked Bray Wyatt, causing Erick Rowan to try to save Bray. This left Luke Harper alone to get double teamed and pinned. Later in the show, The Miz was found in the back, beaten and trapped in a cage with “liar” painted on his stomach.
AJ Lee beat Nikki Bella in the next match by submission.
Los Matadores beat 3MB in a short match and then The Real Americans cut a promo. It looks like these two teams will fight at “Hell in a Cell.”
Ryback and Paul Heyman beat a local jobber that they called CM Skunk. After that match, Alberto Del Rio cut a promo about fighting John Cena, so two of the biggest “Hell in a Cell” matches were set up by promos with only the bad guys appearing on “Smackdown.”
Great Khali and Fandango fought to a no contest.
In the main event, Daniel Bryan, Big E Langston, Cody Rhodes and Goldust beat The Shield and Randy Orton when Bryan pinned Orton. With Bryan getting the upper hand on Orton on “Raw” and pinning him on “Smackdown,” things don’t look good for him when it comes to typical WWE booking.
“WWE Smackdown” airs on Friday nights at 8 p.m. on SyFy.
