It was reported today by WrestlingInc and Wrestling Observer that WWE will be calling up even more new wrestling stars from their developmental wrestling show NXT to perform on the bigger TV stage of ‘RAW’ and ‘Smackdown’. NXT airs Thursday nights on WWE Network at 8pm E and is syndicated on international TV. This past Monday on ‘RAW’ less than 24 hours after the company’s bigger show of the year Wrestlemania, NXT wrestler 'the Bulgarian Brute' Alexander Rusev made his main roster debut where he made short work of former United States Champion Zack Ryder via submission. This week’s ‘RAW’ also featured teasers for the upcoming call-ups for NXT talents Bo Dallas and Adam Rose.

After these young stars make the jump into the majors, NXT show-stealer Sami Zayn and NXT Tag Team Champions the Ascension are expected move up the ladder as well. This would give WWE an influx of talent in different divisions and create fresh match-ups with superstars on the current WWE rosters. The time frame for this second wave of developmental call-ups this year is not clear, but it is possible to occur some time in the summer.

Sami Zayn came to WWE after wrestling all over the world on the independent circuit including Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla under the mask of ‘El Generico’. Since March 2013, Zayn has been thrilling NXT audiences in Florida with his buzzed-about matches with Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal winner Cesaro. Zayn and Cesaro had one of the best WWE matches of the year on the February 27th’s ‘NXT Arrival’ special. He provides a vibrant in-ring performance that combines elements of Mexican lucha libre, Japanese strong style, and easy-to-root-for personality.

The Ascension is a powerhouse tandem made up of Konor (former referred to as Conor O'Reilly on the SyFy version of NXT) and Viktor. They have been mowing down any tag team put in front of them including former WWE Tag Team Champions Too Cool on the NXT ‘Arrival’ live special on the WWE Network. With fan favorite duos in WWE like Los Matadores and the WWE Tag Team Champions the Usos, a monstrous force like Konor and Viktor with their gothic characters could provide a darkness to go against the light of these heroes active now on ‘RAW’.
