On Saturday March 2nd, the WWE held a live event in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The main event of the night featured a "last man standing" match between Alberto Del Rio and The Big Show. According to a March 3rd report by WrestlingInc.com, The Big Show took the microphone to respond to fans, who were calling him "fat", and made the following comments:
"You think I'm fat? Yeah, I'm fat, I have a fat wallet. So shut up before I buy your house and kick you out of it."
Alberto Del Rio would go on to defeat The Big Show in an entertaining match. Live events can lack some excitement compared to televised events. However, when wrestlers get on the mic to address the crowd, it makes for a more special occasion to the live audience.
In addition to Del Rio vs. The Big Show, the following matches took place:
- DiBiase defeated Damien Sandow via pinfall
- The Usos defeated Epico and Primo
- Paige defeated AJ Lee via pinfall with Hornswoggle as special ref
- Jack Swagger defeated Sin Cara via submission
- Wade Barrett defeated Bo Dallas via Bull Hammer
- Randy Orton defeated Cody Rhodes via RKO
- Team Hell No defeated Ziggler and Langston
It will be interesting to see if the WWE decided to use and of these house show storylines on their upcoming television shows.
