Long-time WWE employee, Goldust, is publicly lobbying for one last match at Wrestlemania 28. Goldust is willing to put his career on the line for a shot at the Intercontinental championship currently held by his brother Cody Rhodes. Additionally, Goldust wants to teach his brother a lesson in respect. On Thursday November 17th, Goldust made the following comments about his brother Cody via his Twitter page:
"With your voices heard to @WWE, goldust vs cody at wm28.....ic title versus career. For the haters can hope i lose to cody and retire, teamgoldie can hope for an a*s whoopin for the ages and new ic champ. Here's the deal.....the fire in me is too strong to lose to my move stealing lemmule of a brother....experience everytime. His ic title .....my career.....i would whoop him, take back My ic title and shatter all his dreams. Only teamgoldie can make this happen...u know how much it means to me."
Goldust, real name Dustin Rhodes, is the son of the legendary superstar, and one of the all-time greats, Dusty Rhodes. Dustin has had a lot of success in the WWE as Goldust. While donning the gold paint and blonde hair, Dustin has won the WWE tag-team titles once, the hardcore title 7 times, and the Intercontinental title on 3 separate occasions.
A match between the two brothers would bolster the rumored WrestleMania 28 card and could be a very entertaining match. WWE has a history of feuding siblings, most notably Bret Hart and the late Owen Hart. Cody is becoming a fast rising superstar and has main event skills in the ring. He's improved his physique over the last few months and is becoming one of the top stars on SmackDown.
The WWE can also get their legendary father Dusty Rhodes involved. Also know by his nickname "The America Dream", Dusty has a position with the WWE and can easily be brought in to add depth to this match. How about making him the special guest referee at WM 28 between his two sons? I hope the WWE seriously considers this match as both of the Rhodes boys can work.
