WWE rumors: Zeb Colter's success might lead to more managers in the WWE

Bringing in Zeb Colter to manage Jack Swagger has been an unmitigated success. According to PWInsider.com on Feb. 27, the idea to bring him in broke a pattern of the WWE phasing out managers in professional wrestling.

Vince McMahon believed that managers were an antiquated idea in professional wrestling, so that is why few existed in the WWE anymore. At one time, names like Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, Mr. Fuji, Slick, "The Mouth of the South" Jimmy Hart and more roamed the ringside area, doing everything they could to help their men win.

Recently, Vickie Guerrero served as a manager for Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger, and Paul Heyman served the same role for CM Punk and Brock Lesnar. Those two proved to be a success and really helped the wrestlers they led dominate more in the ring, without having to talk too much.

While Ziggler and Punk can both talk with the best of them, Lesnar and Swagger are better left to fight in the ring and let someone else talk for them. Former professional wrestler Dirty Dutch Mantell had served as a manager before in the WWE, when he led a young JBL into the WWE.

Now, he is back and Zeb Colter has helped Swagger become one of the most talked about wrestlers in the entire company. Swagger always struggled as a "superstar" but now with Colter doing the talking, he is moving up the ranks quickly.

With this success, PWInsider reports that McMahon might be changing his mind and other managers might be introduced down the line.
