According to rajah.com on Jan. 3, Vince McMahon plans to kick-start his Wrestlemania promotion with a series of loaded WWE Monday Night Raw cards to open 2013. This is all supposed to start with the Raw episode on Jan. 7.
On the most recent episode of WWE Main Event, the announcers revealed that CM Punk has been medically cleared to return to action following his December knee surgery. Since he can wrestle, Vince McMahan has ordered him to wrestle Ryback in a tables, ladders and chairs match in the first WWE Championship defense of 2013.
This also lines up with the return of The Rock, who will start working on the build to his WWE Championship match at the Royal Rumble. Rumors have The Rock and Ryback getting involved in an angle to tease what could happen if Ryback wins the belt from Punk.
The WWE also plans a big event to end the show that should "have everyone buzzing." This is a very important Raw episode, since it will be going head-to-head with the Notre Dame vs. Alabama national championship football game, a game that should get the highest ratings in years for college football.
The Jan. 14 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw is the 20th anniversary show, and many legends from the past 20 years are expected to appear. The event takes place in Houston, Texas, and that means some Texas legends might be showing up, including The Undertaker, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels.
Undertaker and HBK both wrestled on the very first episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, so they are almost a lock to appear and the WWE hopes advertising the legends will help raise their recent decline in ratings. They also might announce the first WWE Hall of Fame 2013 nominee that night.
WWE Monday Night Raw airs at 8 p.m. EST on USA every Monday night.
