On the most recent episode of "WWE Monday Night Raw," Brock Lesnar came down to the ring right as Vince McMahon was about to fire Paul Heyman and stood face-to-face with McMahon. When Vince didn't back down, Lesnar hoisted him up and dropped him with the F-5. Now, rajah.com reports on Jan. 31 that McMahon is undergoing hip surgery.
While it is easy to doubt anything you hear about professional wrestling and the WWE, this time the news is legitimate. However, the F-5 delivered by Brock Lesnar is not the reason for the surgery.
Vince McMahon has needed hip surgery for a few months now, but has held off on it as he began to appear more and more on WWE television. With McMahon no longer able to avoid the surgery, the WWE wrote him off of television by having Lesnar hit him with the F-5.
The move did two things. First, it continued to cement Lesnar's status as someone who would run over anyone to get what he wants. He broke Triple H's arm when Hunter tried to strong-arm him last year. He broke Shawn Michael's arm to prove a point to Triple H. Now, he took out Mr. McMahon to stand up for his manager, Paul Heyman.
Second, it removes McMahon from television and allows Triple H to show back up and take over as he heads into the ultimate showdown at Wrestlemania. Brock Lesnar hitting Vince McMahon with the F-5 made for great television, but it also allowed McMahon to get his ailing hip fixed once and for all.
