WWE rumors: Tons of Funk turning heel soon, Funkadactyls remain faces

As evident by Brodus Clay acting like a heel in his interactions recently with Xavier Woods, Tons of Funk is expected to turn heel soon. According to prowrestling.com on Dec. 6, the WWE plans on making Tons of Funk into a top heel team in the company.

Originally, the WWE planned to turn the entire group, including the Funkadactyls heel, but as with most of the WWE’s decisions lately, they are making all decisions based on outside ventures. Just like when The Miz’s heel turn was cancelled because he was about to start promoting a movie, the Funkadactyls heel turn was cancelled to keep them likeable on the second season of “Total Divas.”

That is the same reason the Bella Twins were turned into faces despite the fact that they work better as heels.

With the Funkadactyls remains faces, there is a good chance they are paired up with R-Truth and Xavier Woods, who will take over the kid-friendly in-ring dancing with fans after matches while Tons of Funk will begin working as a monster tag team, destroying anything in their paths.

WWE Hall of Fame announcer Jim Ross posted on his blog that he approved of this decision because Brodus Clay reminds him of The One Man Gang, a top heel in the regional era.
