WWE rumors: The Rock talks about Wrestlemania

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson appeared at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, and Wrestle Zone reported on Jan. 5 that The Rock made some comments about his return to the WWE.

The Rock said that when he appears at WWE Monday Night Raw on Jan. 7, that the storyline for his eventual match at Wrestlemania will kick off.

The Rock was already announced as showing up at the show. On that Raw, CM Punk is scheduled to defend his WWE Championship against Ryback in a tables, ladders and chairs match. The WWE rumors circulating about the show include The Rock getting into a mini-angle with Ryback, to tease the chance that the big man could win the belt on the show.

However, the plans still look like the WWE will push to The Rock battling CM Punk at the Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship. Whether or not The Rock wins the title is still up in the air. The Rock as champion might help propel ratings, but he also has a few new movies to promote, keeping him from devoting all his time to the WWE.

However, The Rock also said that this year he plans on headlining the "biggest Wrestlemania of all time at Giants stadium." He said there are four months of plans lined up and that all starts on the upcoming WWE Monday Night Raw. He said that story will lead into his eventual Wrestlemania main event.
