The latest WWE rumors and spoilers of 2013 could indicate that one of the biggest superstars in recent years is making his comeback. If a ticket vendor's recent promotions are any indication, it could mean that Batista is returning to WWE in 2014 for various events which could include the Royal Rumble and/or WrestleMania 30.
A Dec. 21 report from WrestleZone says that the UNLVTickets.com website from Las Vegas recently put up promotional material on their site about a Feb. 16, 2014 WWE event at the Thomas & Mack Center. Among the promotional points mentioned for the event are various superstars who will be there and the "special return of 'The Animal' Batista." It's unknown at this time in what capacity Dave Batista will be featured as part of this event, and his return has not been confirmed, but this certainly sets off plenty of rumors.
It's being suggested that Batista could make his return as early as the Royal Rumble 2014. In the past, other superstars who were out due to injury, or away from WWE for some time, made surprise appearances at the Rumble. Some even went on to win the event. A win at this upcoming Rumble would give the winner a shot at whoever is the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Batista was last seen in the WWE back in May of 2010. He was part of an on-air firing angle and left after losing a match to John Cena. Since then, he has been more focused on his acting career and will have an upcoming role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" as Drax the Destroyer in 2014. He also held roles in 2013's "Riddick" and 2012's "The Man With the Iron Fists."
Dave Batista, age 44, is a four-time World Heavyweight champion and two-time WWE champion. He had the longest World Heavyweight championship reign in WWE history which started on April 3, 2005 and lasted for 282 days, ending when Batista was sidelined with a triceps injury.
The 2014 Royal Rumble is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2014 at Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, while WrestleMania 30 (XXX) is set for April 6, 2014 in New Orleans.
