After Hunico took over under the Sin Cara mask on this week’s “WWE Monday Night Raw” and the real Sin Cara tweeted from a restaurant in Mexico during the show, questions have risen about his status. According to PWS on Dec. 5, Sin Cara’s contract ends in January and the WWE doesn’t plan to renew it.
Sin Cara was the first person that Triple H signed when he took over the job of finding new talent and big things were expected from the Mexican superstar. However, he has struggled through multiple injuries as well as sloppy in-ring work, which has resulted in a large number of botched spots.
Whether or not this is a difference in the rings in Mexico and the WWE is unknown, but Mistico has failed to impress WWE brass since his arrival. However, while the WWE is not happy with his in-ring work, Sin Cara is a huge draw at the merchandise table and remains very popular, especially among kids.
As a result, while Mistico is no longer being used, the WWE continues to bring out Sin Cara, with Hunico under the mask. It looks like Hunico will continue to portray Sin Cara, especially after the WWE did a big article on their website about Sin Cara’s “new tattoo.”
