WWE rumors: Roman Reigns vs. Triple H planned for ‘Summerslam’

The WWE rumors coming before “Wrestlemania 30” was that The Shield would break up. After their six man match at “Wrestlemania 30,” they are three of the biggest faces in the WWE right now. According to prowrestling.com on Saturday, this may end up leading to Roman Reigns vs. Triple H at “Summerslam” in August.

There was talk about the three men facing in a triple threat match at the event, and then Roman Reigns turning face with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose remaining a heel tag team. Instead, The New Age Outlaws requested to face the three at the big event and they got their way. It resulted in The Shield becoming even more popular than ever.

The next night on “WWE Monday Night Raw,” The Shield came down to the ring and helped Daniel Bryan when Evolution and Kane were on the attack. That ended with the three members of The Shield standing off with Triple H and then Roman Reigns speared Triple H. This could foreshadow one of the main events of “Summerslam.”

There have already been WWE rumors that The Shield would face Evolution at “Extreme Rules.” There is a good chance that match could just see two members of Evolution – Batista and Randy Orton – teaming with Kane. However, Triple H should play a role in the match as well.

It could all lead to “Summerslam” where Roman Reigns could get the singles match against Triple H. If the entire faction of The Shield remains together, it could also lead to a match with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose taking on Randy Orton and Batista. This could be the perfect chance to put the three youngsters over even further, especially if Reigns cleanly beats Triple H.

The entire focus coming out of “Wrestlemania 30” seems to be on pushing the younger talent and breaking into the next generation of the WWE. The Shield is part of that movement, along with Daniel Bryan, The Wyatt Family and Cesaro. If the WWE rumors are true, and Roman Reigns gets this high profile feud with Triple H, it means that the future is finally here for the WWE.
