The WWE will have a huge event next week on "WWE Monday Night Raw" where they will celebrate an old school version of the show with WWE legends from the past making appearances. According to PWInsider.com on Jan. 1, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair will appear on the show but announced Jim Ross is not scheduled to appear.
This is surprising news considering that Jim Ross was forced to leave the WWE for an event where he could not control Ric Flair's random outbursts at a "Summerslam" show. Why the WWE would bring back Flair for the appearance but not Ross is puzzling.
Of course, Jim Ross has refused to acknowledge the reasons for his departure from the WWE, calling most explanations as rumors and conspiracy theory, but Ross has developed a history of dodging questions and calling out anyone who questions the company line. While Ross has always been gracious with his fans, lately he has become condescending to them on Twitter and comes across as slightly bitter.
The fact that Jim Ross won't appear on the old school "Monday Night Raw" episode probably won't bother him too much. Ross recently tweeted that he had a big meeting with a "major sports concern" and that big news could be coming if his agent and their business manager works things out.
Jim Ross could be making a return soon to some sort of sports venture, and it is likely from his past comments that it won't be professional wrestling, meaning he is ready to move on from his time in the WWE.
