Last week, Dolph Ziggler cut a great promo on the WWE app about being underutilized. On "WWE Monday Night Raw" last night, The Miz came out during a match and complained about not wrestling on "Raw." According to PWS on Feb. 4, the idea behind those two promos was to start an angle where they become a tag team.
From the top, this makes no sense. The WWE almost turned The Miz heel last December when they had him turn on Kofi Kingston. However, after the heel turn, management pointed out that The Miz had a new movie he needed to promote, so the WWE backtracked on the heel turn.
The reason that The Miz gave when it came to turning on Kofi Kingston was that he was frustrated with his lack of a push and didn't want to be in a tag team. Now, two months later his frustration at a lack of a push will make him decide to team with Dolph Ziggler.
While it makes no sense, the pairing of the two will at least give them something to do and if the WWE tag team division is going to be rebuilt this year, they would be a nice addition. On the other hand, they would be the exact same as Curtis Axel and Ryback, two guys without direction who teamed up just because Paul Heyman dumped them as clients.
It would be another makeshift tag team that would take the focus off of established teams like The Shield, The Usos, The Wyatt Family and The Real Americans. The Miz and Dolph Ziggler are reported to start teaming over the next few weeks on WWE television.
