The original plan was to save the WWE tag team title change until the “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view. However, those plans changed last night prior to the show. Instead of waiting, “WWE Monday Night Raw” ended with The Big Show coming from out of the crowd to knock out all three members of The Shield and allow Cody Rhodes and Goldust to win the tag team titles.
Now, the WWE is planning a big three-way tag team title match at “Hell in a Cell” with the Rhodes brothers defending their titles against The Shield and The Usos. That might get set up at this week’s “Smackdown” event, which will be pre-taped tonight. Also on hand for tonight’s taping is this week’s “WWE Main Event” where the third Shield member Dean Ambrose defends his U.S. title against Dolph Ziggler.
There was also one other major change made at “Raw” last night. The plans were for CM Punk to battle Ryback and Paul Heyman in a handicap match at “Hell in a Cell,” but since they had that exact same match last month, Vince McMahon allegedly decided to up the odds and make it take place in the Cell.
Originally, only the Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton WWE title match was supposed to take place in the Cell.
