TNA Impact Wrestling is forcing talent to take major pay cuts to remain with the company, which has caused big names like Hulk Hogan, Sting and AJ Styles to already leave. According to PWS on March 1, Kurt Angle has been telling people that he is one of the next superstars to leave the company and will return to the WWE.
Angle was at the Arnold Classic bodybuilding competition and told several people that he planned to be back in the WWE by September. His TNA Impact Wrestling contract expires in September, so unless he has a no-compete clause, he could immediately head back to the WWE.
It is assumed that TNA Impact Wrestling does not have the no-compete clauses because AJ Styles immediately jumped to a Ring of Honor television taping within weeks of his TNA contract expiring.
Kurt Angle has been suffering through some major injury issues lately, including a knee procedure he just had completed to clean it out. There is a chance that he may not pass the WWE physical, which is pretty strict now, but he has been wrestling - and looking great in the ring - despite the injuries.
Angle began his professional wrestling career in the WWE in 1998, after winning a gold medal at the Olympic Games. In his rookie year in the WWE, he won the Intercontinental title, European title, King of the Ring and WWE Championship, one of the most successful rookie campaigns in professional wrestling. He held the WWE or world title six times in the WWE and is a five-time TNA world champion.
