At one time, it seems like WWE legend Jake "The Snake" Roberts was headed for only one place - an early grave. Alcohol and drug addictions had ruined his life, driven away his loved ones and destroyed his career. However, Diamond Dallas Page helped his old friend back to his feet and gave him a reason to live again. Now, PWS reported on Jan. 8 that Jake "The Snake" Roberts looks like he may be a lock for the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame.
There are few men who deserve it more.
There are a number of men who should have been in the WWE Hall of Fame by now that have been omitted for various reasons. Jake "The Snake" Roberts, The Ultimate Warrior, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and "Ravishing" Rick Rude are four men who were giant stars in the WWE and deserving of induction, but all have been passed over again and again for reasons that have little to do with their accomplishments in the ring.
Two of those names - Roberts and Warrior - look to be locks for this year's WWE Hall of Fame induction class now. Warrior made his peace with Vince McMahon and helped promote the WWE 2K14 video game and will have a new DVD coming out around the time of the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony.
Jake "The Snake" Roberts appearance on "WWE Monday Night Raw" this week is a good sign that he will be inducted as well. Roberts joined up with Diamond Dallas Page and made a promise to stop drinking and using drugs if Page would help him. Page set Roberts up in his DDP Yoga program and Roberts has now been over a year clean of drugs and only had one minor slip up with alcohol.
When he walked out on "WWE Monday Night Raw," he looked better than he has in years and the fans popped big time for him. It was a big time moment and the realization of one of Roberts' goals when he started rehabbing with Page.
Jake "The Snake" Roberts in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame class is something that the man deserves and would be a perfect reward for his hard work and dedication to getting better.
