At one time, Drew McIntyre was groomed to be the WWE champion, as he was one of Vince McMahon’s pet projects. However, he dropped fast and has been languishing for years now. According to Wrestle Zone on Oct. 5, the WWE might be repackaging him for another push.
These rumors started thanks to tweets by McIntyre himself.
He said that he appreciated the WWE allowing him to work like it was the old territory system. He said that the “Chosen One” gimmick was like he was in the Mid South and then the Three Man Band (3MB) gimmick was like he was in the Memphis territories. He then questioned what was next for his career.
Over the last few weeks, McIntyre was not with 3MB in their matches and Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal were going on without him. He tweeted the cryptic message “#WheresDrew.” He has also changed his Twitter description to say he has an “ironclad resolve as The Chosen One.”
That makes one wonder if the WWE is planning to revive his “Chosen One” persona and give him another chance to reach his full potential. After embarrassing himself over the past year as a member of 3MB, it might be time for a change.
