On “WWE Monday Night Raw,” CM Punk went off on a fan at ringside, ripping into the fan and challenging him to fight before calling out Paul Heyman. Rajah reported on Aug. 22 that WWE rumors indicate that the outburst was unscripted and Punk was legitimately annoyed at the fan.
According to sources backstage, CM Punk was in a bad mood before coming out to the ring on “Raw,” and that might have been part of the reason for the outburst in the ring. Sources say that Punk is often in a bad mood, so this was nothing new, but the reaction to the fan was unexpected.
While the WWE does not like for their face wrestlers to interact in fans in that manner, the WWE rumors indicate that they are not mad at Punk because of the way it went down. The fans in the arena bought into it and cheered Punk as he blasted the fan. Plus, when Paul Heyman came out, he played off the outburst and used it in his promo, which made it seem more scripted and natural.
The fact is that the outburst helped add to the drama of the CM Punk and Curtis Axel fight that occurred after the promos.
Fans at the event said that the fan in the stands was heckling CM Punk but didn’t say anything nearly bad enough to warrant that much of a blasting from the WWE superstar. Regardless, WWE rumors indicate that Punk will not get in trouble since it played well in front of the live audience.
