The WWE runs a lot of shows throughout the year, with numerous house shows surrounding the televised events. According to rajah.com on Feb. 10, one of these house shows ended badly when CM Punk was dropped on his head and had to be helped to the back.
The match was a tag team bout with CM Punk teaming with U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro to battle The Miz and Ryback. While the first thought was that Ryback botched a move, it was actually The Miz who might have hurt Punk.
The CM Punk injury occurred when Miz lifted him up for a suplex. Miz held him straight up to "let the blood rush to the head," but then when Miz was preparing to drop him onto his back, The Miz lost his balance and dropped Punk head first on to the mat.
Medical officials immediately rushed to ringside to check on Punk, who rolled out of the ring. They worked on Punk for several minutes as the match continued in the ring. Punk eventually returned to the match, but was slow moving and did little, as he was clearly shaken up. After the match, officials helped Punk back to the locker room.
Not much is known yet about the severity of the CM Punk injury, but if there is something wrong, the WWE will likely address it on "Monday Night Raw" tomorrow night.
