WWE rumors: Big plans for Roman Reigns rumored for 'Royal Rumble'

It wasn't that long ago that WWE rumors surfaced that the company was really high on three WWE superstars - Big E Langston, Roman Reigns and Summer Rae. According to Rajah.com on Dec. 19, the "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view could be where Reigns really breaks out.

The first name on that list has already been elevated into the upper card, as Big E Langston won the Intercontinental title from Curtis Axel and actually has begun to run in to save various WWE superstars, including John Cena and CM Punk. It has been proven that Langston is a force to be reckoned with and might finally elevate the Intercontinental title once again.

Interestingly, Big E has been squaring off with The Shield in his rescue missions lately. That will put him head-to-head with Roman Reigns.

The original thought for Reigns was to break him away from The Shield and turn him face. The seeds have been planted with Dean Ambrose letting his mouth cause a rift withing The Shield, and Reigns actually cost them the win at the "TLC" pay-per-view.

However, if the WWE plans to have Big E Langston and Roman Reigns square off, they will likely keep Reigns a heel. That brings us to the "Royal Rumble" pay-per-view.

The WWE rumors surrounding that event sees The Shield taking part in the Royal Rumble match itself and the word is that, not only will Reigns look great in the match, but the WWE's plans for him might be bigger than most people could have imagined.

The WWE "Royal Rumble" takes place on Jan. 26, 2014.
