WWE rumors: Behind-the-scenes look at Punk vs. Jericho from 'Raw'

On the most recent episode of "WWE Monday Night Raw," Chris Jericho and CM Punk put on one of the best free television matches of the year so far. What makes that more impressive is that PWS reported on Feb. 10 that Punk and Jericho only had a few minutes to put it together after they learned they were fighting.

The match was decided by an interactive vote using the WWE telephone app. However, the app crashed because of how many people voted for the match, which delayed the actual winner. The WWE believed that Randy Orton was going to win the voting, but it didn't happen.

WWE was correct that Rey Mysterio would not win, which made their angle with Mysterio and Daniel Bryan, and the ensuing return of Mark Henry, need no changing. However, they thought Orton would win and booked Chris Jericho to beat Wade Barrett on "Raw" and Punk to beat Orton.

When Jericho won, WWE had to change things on the fly. Orton and Barrett fought, which was not a hard match to make since the two had a long feud recently. While Punk and Jericho also had a hard fought feud last year as well, their roles were reversed, so the match had to be different this time around.

With only a few minutes to plan it out, Chris Jericho and CM Punk proved why they are two of the most talented wrestlers on the roster and brought down the house.
