A lot of people noticed that WWE star Alberto Del Rio had a black eye during his match with Christian at “WWE SummerSlam.” While the announcers claimed it was a Christian Killswitch that caused it, PWInsider reported on Aug. 19 that the black eye actually came from a bar fight the night before.
Apparently, on Saturday night Alberto Del Rio was at an Irish pub close to the hotel and got into a big argument with someone there. The argument got out of hand when the person’s friends stepped up and got involved in the confrontation. One thing led to another and a fight broke out.
Drew McIntyre was also at the pub and stepped in to help Del Rio and the two were beat up.
Alberto Del Rio returned to the hotel and worked on getting the bruises on his face covered to shield his face, but the black eye was something he wasn’t able to completely cover. Drew McIntyre also ended up with a couple of lumps on his head, but nothing on his face like Del Rio did.
The announcers at “WWE SummerSlam” blamed the bruises on Christian, but it all took place outside of the WWE’s control the night before the PPV event.
