There are new WWE Royal Rumble 2014 rumors and spoilers heading into the January pay-per-view from pro wrestling. Among them are "big plans" for Roman Reigns of The Shield, as well as potential for at least two big returns from superstars who have been out of action for some time now. Could this be one of the biggest Royal Rumbles in the history of the event?
A Dec. 20 report from Wrestling Inc. notes that there are two superstars set to make appearances at the 2014 World of Wheels Convention which will take place in January in Pittsburgh, PA right around when the Rumble does. On Jan. 25, Chris Jericho is set ot appear at the event from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., while Sheamus is set to appear the day before from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. EST. These two superstars were both involved in past Rumbles and actually among the final entrants, yet they have been out of WWE for weeks, if not months now. Of note, Sheamus won the Royal Rumble in 2012 and went on to defeat World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania XVIII for the title. Chris Jericho has yet to win the Rumble.
The other big news about the Rumble involves Roman Reigns of The Shield. It's being reported that WWE has some big plans for Reigns at the Rumble, although it's unknown exactly what that means. Wrestling Inc reported "It's said that those plans right now are even bigger than anyone would have thought." There's been recently teased dissension among the members of The Shield, with CM Punk able to win a 1-on-3 handicap match against them at TLC. Reigns, formerly one-half of the tag team champions with Shield partner Seth Rollins, also was booked strongly at the 2013 Survivor Series where he eliminated four members off the other team and was the sole survivor for his team in a traditional 5-on-5 elimination tag match.
Pro wrestling fans, who do you think will end up winning the 2014 Royal Rumble? Will it be Roman Reigns, Chris Jericho, or someone else?
