According to ProWrestling.net on Jan. 26, the match featured plenty of great back-and-forth tag team action. The closing moments of the match featured Cody Rhodes delivering a dropkick off the corner to both Road Dogg and Billy Gunn, before he sent Billy over the top rope to the outer floor. Rhodes took care of Road Dogg in the ring, hitting his finisher Cross Rhodes, and made a pinfall cover, but Billy Gunn managed to get back into the ring to break up a potential winning pin.
Moments later, Goldust got involved taking Gunn back to the outside to fight, leaving Cody and Road Dogg in the ring. On the outside, Billy managed to gain control, knocking Goldust out for a bit, then climbing back to the apron. From there he blindly made a tag to his partner Road Dogg, slapping his back to become legal. As Cody Rhodes hit a move on Dogg and was hunched over, Billy got in the ring and delivered a surprise Fameasser to level Rhodes and make the winning pinfall. The New Age Outlaws celebrated with their newly-won tag team titles about 7 minutes before the start of the pay-per-view.
The victory by New Age Outlaws gave them the tag team championships for their sixth reign in WWE history. The duo has already held the titles for a combined 468 days and now will begin adding to that record. They rank fourth all-time for combined days, just 15 days behind The Hart Foundation for the No. 3 spot. Will the new champs be forced to defend the belts on Monday Night Raw? It's expected they'll show up as part of the Royal Rumble match along with the former champions, the Rhodes Brothers.
