The WWE Royal Rumble 2013 will feature live streaming matches online, in addition to those shown on the televised Pay-Per-View event. There will be at least four championships up for grabs including a special pre-show free match, and then three others joining the featured Royal Rumble match on the main card.
A Royal Rumble live streaming pre-show kicks things off at 7:30 p.m. EST online via WWE's Fan Nation YouTube channel, the WWE Facebook and website. It will feature a match fans can watch online for free which pits The Miz vs. Antonio Cesaro for the WWE United Stations Championship. Cesaro has held the belt since SummerSlam in August of 2012, making for a rather lengthy reign of 159 days. The Miz has held the title twice in his career, with his longest reign back in 2009 lasting 224 days. So he'll technically be competing twice during the night, with his other appearance in the Royal Rumble match.
According to Wrestling Inc on Jan. 25, The Miz said in a recent in-depth interview with Comcast regarding the other big match he'll enter during the main PPV card:
"When I win the Royal Rumble I will have the choice between the WWE Championship and the World Heavyweight Championship. So, you look at it and you go, CM Punk vs. the Rock. CM Punk has held the title for 400-something days. He's a proven champion and he'll do whatever it takes to win that title at all costs. Then you have the Rock coming back, hasn't been in the ring in almost a year now. CM Punk has been defending the championship for the past year. He's crisp, he's in his prime. The Rock might have a little ring rust. But, I want the Rock to win. The Rock is the reason I wanted to become a WWE Superstar."
The 2013 edition of the Royal Rumble gets started at 8 p.m. EST on Sunday night. Roanoke viewers can watch it on cable or satellite services including Cox Cable, DISH Network and DirecTV. Additionally, the event can be ordered and viewed live streaming online via WWE's website, or Roanoke residents can go to the local Hooters restaurant, where the event will be shown live on TV's.
