For those of you wondering where the annual WWE "spring cleaning" releases were this year, they happened on Thursday morning. As of 5:30 P.M. Central, the company had come to terms on the release of a total of eleven of its talents

On the list of those fired are Drew McIntyre, Jinder Mahal, Aksana, Curt Hawkins, Theodore Long, Camacho, Brodus Clay, Evan Bourne, JTG, and Yoshi Tatsu. Also released is referee Marc Harris.

Long had been with the company for well over a decade, taking on managerial and referee roles as well as being the SmackDown General Manager. He had faded away from TV in recent months, as had several other talents. Bourne had not been seen in quite some time, after dealing with a series of injuries following his wellness policy violation last year.

McIntyre may had been the more talented of the group, but had fell into the comedy role alongside Mahal and Heath Slater as part of 3MB over the last year. None of these releases were "surprising," but maybe the timing and maybe a question of what led to so many releases comes to mind.

The locker room had reportedly been on edge over the last few months, as the company usually drops the axe on several names shortly after WrestleMania. But that came a little late this year. And for what it's worth, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is already souring on several new talents that were just called up from NXT. One of those names is crowd favorite Adam Rose. So keep your eye on WWE today, as more releases could always be right around the corner.
