The WWE Raw live stream show ahead of the televised program on USA made its debut on WWE Network Monday night. The pre-show panel featured commentator Josh Matthews, WWE superstar Alex Riley, as well as Hall of Famers Booker T and Nature Boy Ric Flair. Not only did they mention that there would be an exclusive interview with Hulk Hogan on the Raw Backstage Pass show at 11 p.m. EST, but also on Elimination Chamber results and at least one match taking place ahead of Raw for WWE Superstars all on the special live streaming Raw show.
According to a Feb. 24 PWTorch report, Kofi Kingston took on Damien Sandow in a match on the pre-show ahead of Raw which would be available on WWE Superstars. The panel sent it to the ring for several live look-ins with commentary including Byron Saxton. Kingston hit a few big moves during the match. Later, Sandow tried to put a Figure Four on, but was kicked away by Kofi. Moments later, Kofi was able to grab Sandow by surprise and put him into a small package pinfall. Jerry Lawler conducted a post-match interview with the historic first-ever match winner on the live WWE Raw pre-show.
After his live match, Kofi told Lawler and the fans watching:
"Every victory you get is huge. Beating a guy like Sandow is huge for me. This crowd in Green Bay was amazing. It's all about momentum. Hopefully this is the start of my road to WrestleMania."
Also during the Raw Pre-Show, the panel talked about various results from last night's Elimination Chamber and showed still shot images from the event. Among the discussions was a talk about The Wyatt Family defeating The Shield in a six man tag match. Both Booker T and Ric Flair said they felt Roman Reigns is the leader of Shield and they all need to be on the same page, but that Reigns could walk down the ramp on his own if needed. A poll online was presented where fans can vote for the best match of the pay-per-view, including the six man tag and the Chamber match. The panel also brought up rumors that Brock Lesnar would be making an appearance on tonight's episode of Raw.
During the pre-show, Renee Young tried to interview Raw General Manager Brad Maddox backstage to ask about the rumors of Brock Lesnar showing up. However, the interview was interrupted by an argument nearby between Sheamus and Christian over how they lost last night's Elimination Chamber match. Maddox informed the two they'd be having a match tonight on Raw to settle things.
The Raw Pre-Show aired live on the WWE Network at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on Monday night, making the debut of the half hour live online show. Raw will air on cable or satellite via USA channel at 8 p.m. EST. A Backstage Pass "post-game" show will air after 11 p.m. EST when Raw has ended on USA. The exclusive shows will be seen each Monday ahead of and after Raw, with tonight's episode marking the first two ever. SmackDown will have similar shows this coming Friday night also live online for WWE Network.
