WWE pays tribute to Joan Rivers with WrestleMania 2 appearance

Legendary comedian Joan Rivers passed away on September 4, 2014. Rivers was certainly no stranger to the WWE, playing a role at WrestleMania 2 in 1986 as the guest ring announcer for the main event from the Nassau Coliseum, the "Boxing Match" between Mr. T and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Joan Rivers was no stranger to the WWE

Joan Rivers kept in touch with the WWE (and WWF) through the years, having superstars such as Hulk Hogan (pictured) on her show and more recently having WWE talent such as The Bella Twins on her E! network hit, "Fashion Police."

WWE has released, via YouTube, video of Rivers' WrestleMania 2 appearance, with the following message honoring the legend:

WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of iconic comedienne Joan Rivers, who participated in one of the earliest WrestleManias in 1986. Relive Joan Rivers' appearance at WrestleMania as she serves as a special guest ring announcer for “Rowdy” Roddy Piper’s epic boxing match with Mr. T inside New York’s Nassau Coliseum.
