‘WWE Payback’ news: Ric Flair says he will be at the show

The WWE rumors indicate that “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair has not been medically cleared to return to the ring, but that won’t stop him from attending “WWE Payback.” In a video released on Friday by the WWE, Flair made his predictions about who would win the match between Evolution and The Shield. He also said that he would be at “WWE Payback,” although he won’t be involved in the match. Here is a look at the “WWE Payback” preview.

The match that Ric Flair was talking about is the no-holds barred six man tag team match where The Shield battles Evolution. It was just last month that Flair came to the ring and predicted that The Shield would beat Evolution at “Extreme Rules.” That makes this latest prediction a little strange, as he is turning course. He also said he would be there to cheer the match on.

There won’t be a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, as Daniel Bryan had neck surgery and will miss an undetermined amount of time. However, the WWE has not officially stripped Bryan of the title. At “WWE Payback,” Stephanie McMahon said Bryan has to show up and “do the right thing” or she might have to fire Brie Bella in response.

The second big match at “WWE Payback” is between John Cena and Bray Wyatt. Cena won at “Wrestlemania 30” while Wyatt won at “Extreme Rules.” This time, they are fighting in a last man standing match, and with the Wyatt Family and Usos involved, the match should prove to be entertaining at the least.

There are three title matches on the card. Sheamus defends his U.S. title against Cesaro. Bad News Barrett puts his newly won Intercontinental title on the line against Rob Van Dam. Finally, Paige defends her Diva’s title against Alicia Fox.

On the undercard, Big E battles Rusev while El Torito puts his mask on the line against Hornswoggle, who is risking his hair, in a pre-show match. “WWE Payback” kicks off at 8 p.m. EST on the WWE Network with the kickoff starting at 7:30 p.m. The show is also available on select cable outlets via pay-per-view.
