Ric Flair and Bret Hart appeared at the WWE “NXT Takeover” event on Thursday night and took part in the show. Flair stood in the corner of his daughter Charlotte while Hart backed up his niece Natalia as the two fought for the vacant NXT Women’s Championship. Here is a look at the WWE “NXT Takeover” results and recap of the show.
The show actually opened with Adam Rose taking on Camacho. It has to be tough for Rose to be feuding with Camacho on NXT and Jack Swagger on the main brand. The match was a pretty solid one with Rose beating Camacho with the Party Foul.
The tag team titles are on the line next at WWE “NXT Takeover.” The Ascension has been the champions for a long time and their opponents here are the Luchador team of Kalisto and El Local. The Ascension take a little more damage than usual but came out on top as usual with the Fall of Man.
The next match was amazing. Sami Zayn and Tyler Breeze battled and the two guys tore the house down. While Breeze sometimes lets his gimmick overshadow his skills, this match showed how good he really is. Breeze actually pulled off the upset when Zayn went for the Stinger Splash and ran into a groin shot. The match lasted about 14 minutes.
After that match, Lana and Rusev comes out to praise Vladimir Putin. Mojo Rawley, who the fans love, came out with an American flag and said he was going to stick it up Rusev’s “Putin.” Rusev just took his head off and locked in the Accolade to end the threat.
The NXT Women’s title was on the line next. The match between Charlotte and Natalya was great, and neither of their legendary family members got involved. Charlotte won, without cheating, to take the belt. The fans were all chanting “this is awesome” and it was. After the match, Charlotte surprisingly broke into tears, thanked Natalya for the great match and hugged Ric Flair who was also crying.
The main event was for the WWE NXT Championship as Adrian Neville defended his belt against Tyson Kidd. The two had a nice, hard fought match, but Kidd lost the match. That means that he has to leave NXT and should make his return to the main roster soon. Overall, the WWE “NXT Takeover” care was just as good as their first live show with less technical problems.
