The WWE Night of Champions 2013 live stream show and televised pay-per-view matches are on the way for the night of Sunday, Sept. 15, as most of the champions will be on the line. Among those defending their titles will be WWE champion Randy Orton, World Heavyweight champion Alberto Del Rio, and current WWE Divas champion, A.J. Lee. There will also be a Night of Champions live stream pre-show match to determine new #1 contender's for the WWE tag team titles.
A Sept. 14 report via CagedSideSeats.com gives details on the special Night of Champions live streaming pre-show match. The match, called a "Tag Team Turmoil" match will feature five tag teams involved: Tons of Funk, 3MB, The Real Americans, The Primetime Players and The Usos. These five teams will square off in what is described as a "gauntlet-style" match. Basically, two tag teams start off and fight until one wins. Then that winning team faces the next team in the lineup.
The Tag Team Turmoil match will go on until there is just one tag team left and they become #1 contenders for the tag team titles. They'll go on to face The Shield on the main Night of Champions card. WWE's free live online kickoff match is part of their live stream pre-show which begins at 7:30 p.m. EST and is seen on WWE's YouTube channel, Facebook page, website, and Yahoo! website.
Of course that's just a warmup for the main show which will feature almost every championship on the line, with the exception of Curtis Axel's Intercontinental title. Instead, Axel will be teaming up with his manager, Paul Heyman, as they take on CM Punk in a 2-on-1 elimination handicap match. If Punk eliminates Axel first, he'll finally get his hands on Heyman. If Heyman refuses to compete, he's automatically fired.
Just recently on SmackDown, it was announced that United States champion Dean Ambrose will defend the title at NOC against Dolph Ziggler. Ziggler defeated Ambrose during the Friday episode (due to DQ by Shield's interference) and GM Vickie Guerrero booked the match. Dolph's former girlfriend, A.J. Lee, will also be in action, as she puts her divas title up for grabs in a Fatal 4-way match. Her opponents come from the WWE/E! reality show "Total Divas," as Natalya, Brie Bella and Naomi will compete for the title.
Also on the card, Rob Van Dam attempts to win the World Heavyweight championship from Alberto Del Rio. He'll have to do so without Ricardo Rodriguez as Vickie Guerrero ordered that he can't be at ringside, fearing for his safety. Also, WWE Champion Randy Orton will look to extend his reign as champion by defeating Daniel Bryan in a rematch. Bryan has vowed to win back the title that Triple H and Orton basically took away from him after he defeated John Cena at SummerSlam last month for it.
Tonight's main Night of Champions PPV gets started at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Fans are able to order through cable or satellite television, or via WWE's website to see a live streaming version of the pay-per-view. There's also the option for fans to head out to local restaurants or bars that might be showing tonight's event, including the Hooters in Roanoke.
