The new signees were not any of the big name indie stars.
WWE signed Dylan Mile, a 6-3, 285 pound wrestler who could apparently jump a 37 inch vertical leap. They also signed Leah Van Dale, a former NFL and NBA cheerleader with the New England Patriots and Los Angeles Lakers. Her father, Paul Van Dale, worked with the WWE in the ‘90s.
The names that have not signed yet are Ring of Honor stars Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards and former TNA star Joey Ryan. Neither Richards nor Edwards are working with a contract in Ring of Honor, although both men continue to fulfill their obligations with the company.
The word from the WWE tryouts was that Edwards and Richards were heads and shoulders above the other wrestlers and were easily the most polished. Also, with former ROH names like CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Antonio Cesaro and Seth Rollins already in the WWE, it seemed like they might have a legitimate chance.
Just because the WWE has not called them yet, also doesn’t mean they won’t.
