WWE news: WWE planning on calling up NXT tag team champions

The WWE is taking the youth movement to the extreme as they not only are pushing their younger talent over the old guard on television but they are now planning on moving up more NXT stars to the main roster. While Adam Rose and Bo Dallas have already been advertised, prowrestling.com reported on Saturday that the tag team champions are coming as well. The Ascension should be promoted to the main roster in the next two to three months.

The Ascension could be a huge move when it comes to pushing tag team wrestling in the WWE. With The Real Americans breaking up, that leaves The Usos, Rhodes Dynasty, Los Matadores and Rybaxel as the only legitimate teams remaining. The Ascension would be a big addition to the tag team division. However, there are no other tag teams in NXT other than The Ascension, so that would need to be remedied as well.

As for Bo Dallas, this makes sense. When the first NXT champion, Seth Rollins, dropped the NXT title, The Shield quickly became major players in the WWE. When Big E lost the title, he became a stronger presence on WWE TV as well. Now that Dallas has dropped the strap, the WWE can try to take his interesting character and push it on “WWE Monday Night Raw.”

As for Adam Rose, this might be a mistake. Rose has a unique gimmick similar to that of Fandango, and that means he might not find acceptance in front of mainstream WWE fans. He is hugely popular in NXT, but the audiences are different. He has wrestled in the WWE developmental system for four years now, starting out as Leo Kruger, so he has put in his time. The gimmick just might not work in the WWE.

Paige won the WWE Divas title last week. With the win, she is expected to stay on the main roster. The expected replacement for her as NXT Divas Champion is likely either Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte or her partner Sasha, and that is expected to happen in the next few weeks. Bailey should become the babyface chasing that title on NXT.

Sami Zayn has not been mentioned about coming up to the WWE main roster. Adrian Neville is also not going to come to the main roster any time soon. The WWE considers Neville to be the face of NXT, so he will remain in that position, at least through the summer.
