WWE News: WWE announces the signing of Japanese sensation Kenta

According to a press release from WWE, the promotion has signed Japanese star Kenta to a developmental deal for the NXT division. The signing happened July 12 during a WWE house show in Osaka, Japan.

WWE Executive Vice President, Paul Levesque, said, "Kenta is an incredible performer who brings the crowd to its feet when he steps into the ring. WWE’s signing of Kenta reflects our continued dedication to creating a diverse roster that appeals to our global fan base"

This is exciting news for fans of Japanese wrestling and is a long time coming. Grabbing a star on the caliber Kenta is huge for WWE. Some fans are apprehensive as WWE has had some bad luck with the signings of international stars such as the failed signing of Sin Cara, for example. However, WWE seems to be investing in his future by allowing him to develop within the NXT promotion.

Kenta, real name Kenta Kobayashi, has been active since 2000. He is the originator of CM Punk's finisher, the 'Go to Sleep'. In addition, he is a multiple time champion with the NOAH promotion. He has made appearances in the United States before with the Ring of Honor promotion. Kenta has long been considered one of the top Japanese stars. For Kenta, this is the culmination of years of hard work. It has long been his dream to work for WWE. In January of 2014, he tried out at the WWE Performance Center in Florida with NOAH's blessing.

WWE pulled out all the stops during the ceremony having Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan make the announcement. The signing has been rumored for some time. Now that the signing is official, what type of impact do you see Kenta making in WWE?
