At one time, the WWE could be compared to Disney for its cartoon-like storylines. Since the Attitude Era, it shook the cartoon aspects and became more grown up entertainment. However, Wrestle View reported on Sept. 18 that WWE COO Triple H did a recent interview and compared his company to Disney once again.
Triple H isn't comparing the CM Punk vs. Paul Heyman feud to "The Lion King" or "Cinderella," though. He is comparing the business models of the two companies and claiming that the WWE is a company that has growth potential like Disney does.
As rich as the WWE is, and as popular as it is across the world, it has a long way to go when it comes to matching Disney as a global presence. However, he did have one interesting analogy for this argument, and it wasn't comparing the WWE to Disney as a whole.
Triple H pointed out that, much like Disney, the WWE is all about entertainment - more so than the actual wrestling action. He then mentioned that, 10 years ago, Marvel was just a comic book company but now they are a growing provider of global entertainment in many different areas.
He said that the WWE is much the same, no longer just a wrestling company, but a company that is spreading out in various forms of entertainment, from movies to cartoons to wrestling to books and charitable foundations.
Triple H explained that the WWE is entertainment of all kinds, much like Disney.
