In his match with Sin Cara on “WWE Monday Night Raw,” Alberto Del Rio suffered a concussion. According to PWS on Dec. 10, a WWE doctor checked on Del Rio after the match and determined that he did suffer a concussion and will run more tests on Tuesday.
The injury apparently occurred when Sin Cara hit a float-over sunset flip power bomb from the top turnbuckle. While it was a nice looking move, Del Rio’s head hit the canvas and Sin Cara quickly went up top and hit a swanton bomb for the pin fall victory.
The doctors checked out Del Rio backstage and it was determined he suffered a concussion. He will get an ImPACT test soon after his checkup on Tuesday and the doctors will determine how long he will have to set out of in-ring action.
Alberto Del Rio was still involved in the final promo on “WWE Monday Night Raw” as all the former WWE and world champions in attendance were in the ring while John Cena and Randy Orton cut promos about the upcoming unification match. When the fighting at the end started, Del Rio was part of the group pulling people apart but was not involved in any of the actual fighting.
Also in the ring for that segment was Christian, who has been out for a few weeks with concussion symptoms. The WWE has become very careful when it comes to concussions in the ring as they work to protect their wrestlers more.
