After the WWE “Hell in a Cell” pay-per-view went off the air, a lot of fans went to Twitter in anger at Daniel Bryan once again getting cheated out of winning the WWE title. According to PWInsider on Oct. 28, “The Heartbreak Kid” Shawn Michaels had fun with a couple of people who aimed their anger at him.
One person tagged Michaels in their post and said that he sucked. They also said they were trying to figure out what other Texan they could think of to compare him to. Michaels offered up the option of Bruce Dern. See, Dern starred as the villain in “The Cowboys” and shot John Wayne.
It was a clear way for Michaels to explain that the WWE is scripted and he was slotted to play the villain last night. However it was not about the real Michael Hickenbottom (Shawn’s real name). That also seemed to go over the head of another Twitter follower, who mentioned that Shawn is supposed to be a Christian and should re-read the story of Judas.
Of course, Judas betrayed Jesus Christ, a comparison being made to Shawn and Daniel Bryan. Michaels still didn’t let it bother him, saying that we should all be mad at the actors who played Judas in movies, as well as the people who play Satan as well.
It was clear that Shawn Michaels was trying to calm down WWE fans that are letting their anger skew their visions of reality. However, soon he gave up and said he wasn’t going to be having much fun on Twitter for awhile.
