“The Nature Boy” Ric Flair made his WWE return a while back with special appearances on the WWE Network pre-game shows. He also made his first return to the WWE ring when he endorsed The Shield in their war with Evolution. After making another appearance at “NXT Takeover,” standing in the corner of his daughter Charlotte as she won the NXT Women’s Championship, Wrestle View reported on Friday that Flair is still talking about who he wants to manage in the WWE.
When Ric Flair was supposed to originally make his WWE return last year, he was earmarked to manage The Miz. He had already given The Miz his blessing to use the figure four leglock. However, the “Summerslam Axxess” controversy when Flair arrived at a panel allegedly drunk, nixed that idea. Triple H told his friend that if he was to get help, the WWE would welcome him back.
Flair got the help and it seems like he is in a better place now. He has also been working out to get in better shape and actually weighs less now than he did when he was a full time wrestler. His appearance at “NXT Takeover” was also special, since Bret “The Hit Man” Hart was in his niece Natalya’s corner for the match. After Charlotte won the title, both father and daughter were in tears and it proved to be a very special moment.
While the WWE seems to still want to place Flair with The Miz when he heads back to the main roster, he has a different idea. Flair said that he would love to manage Dolph Ziggler, an idea the WWE is not enthused with. Flair called Ziggler “awesome” and just needs to find his gimmick and work on his entrance. Ric Flair said that he feels like he could help Ziggler with that as his WWE manager.
