WWE's annual "spring cleaning" began yesterday, as it included 10 wrestlers and one referee. Marc Harris was that man in stripes and he reacted to the firing on Twitter.

@WWE_Ref_MarcH: Thanks to all my fans and friends. Your truly awesome. Its impossible to hold me down. Watch what happens next 😊

Nobody took the release horribly on social media. The fact that 11 employees were released and not one person complained over Twitter or Facebook is an accomplishment alone.

Here is the complete list of cuts:

  • Aksana
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Jinder Mahal
  • Marc Harris
  • Brodus Clay
  • JTG
  • Evan Bourne
  • Yoshi Tatsu
  • Teddy Long
  • Curt Hawkins
  • Camacho

A few of the names on the list are quite shocking. Camacho was well-liked in NXT and his body-type fit the build of a prototypical superstar that Vince McMahon and Triple H like. Curt Hawkins continued to be versatile for the company. Whether he jobbed or not, Hawkins always gave it 100%.

Brodus Clay, upon his debut with Alberto Del Rio, displayed exceptional bursts of athleticism and power. After WWE gave him a dancer's gimmick, it was a slow ride to the low-card, and eventually the creative team had nothing for him.

Teddy Long and JTG were the journeyman of the group. Long, a former-referee, turned into the lovable General Manager of Smackdown that always gave the WWE Universe a good tag-team match. That, or he would punish a heel by making him go one-on-one with the Undertaker.

The rest of the names on this list wouldn't have broken the talent pool's bank if kept. Due to the WWE Network's failures and the catastrophic stock drop, money was clearly lost that needed returned. As any logical businessman does, he gets rid of the dead weight.

It sounds very critical and crass, however, it's just business. Rumor has it that more cuts could be on the way, and it may affect the administration team as well. Stay optimistic WWE Universe, because changes are coming to World Wrestling Entertainment by the day.
