When CM Punk walked out on the WWE the night after the 2014 “WWE Royal Rumble,” most people were just asking when he would be back. While there are still a lot of people who feel that CM Punk leaving the WWE is just temporary, there is one man who feels that CM Punk will never return. PWS reported on Wednesday that Paul Heyman did a recent interview where he said that CM Punk really believes he will never return to the WWE.
Heyman explained that CM Punk doesn’t want to come back and that the WWE never wants him back. Heyman said that Punk is determined never to return and that Punk feels, if he does go back to the WWE, it will be a sign of failure. Heyman said that Punk’s success is based on the fact that he never takes backwards steps. Of course, since his WWE contract ended, Punk has been popping here and there and seems to be keeping in the public eye.
CM Punk seems to look younger, happier and refreshed since being away from the WWE for the last six months. He is also settling into his new marriage with AJ Lee, who recently made her return to the WWE as an active competitor. He has saved his money and is well off and has no reason to do anything that he doesn’t want to do. With that said, a return to the WWE would likely only happen under CM Punk’s rules and that likely won’t happen.
Also in the Paul Heyman interview, he spoke out about Brock Lesnar and a possible UFC return. Heyman mentioned that Lesnar was suffering pretty bad from the kidney problems, and even if he wasn’t in pain, he would have dropped to the Alistair Overeem kidney kick. With that said, Heyman said never say never when it comes to a Brock Lesnar UFC return, but don’t expect it anytime soon. Heyman said that Lesnar is very happy with his WWE deal and won’t jeopardize it.
