WWE news: Paige turns on AJ Lee and Brock Lesnar accepts bout against John Cena

According to a July 22 report from Wrestlezone, Brock Lesnar made a surprise appearance on this week's episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, to announce that he has accepted a bout against John Cena at next month's SummerSlam pay-per-view special event in Los Angeles. Cena and Lesnar have fought twice before, with each man winning once. Next month's SummerSlam will be the culmination of one of the most epic trilogies in WWE history, as Cena and Lesnar look to break the one-all tie.

In all likelihood, Cena will drop the belt to Lesnar at WWE SummerSlam. Its expected that Lesnar will then serve as champ for a few months, before dropping the belt to Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 31. Of course, the WWE could throw fans a curveball by changing the script at the last minute. In other action that went down on this week's WWE Monday Night Raw, Paige made a shocking heel turn by smashing AJ Lee to the mat.

Leading up to WWE Monday Night Raw, Paige and Lee were the best of friends. They often battled inside the cage, but it seemed to be a respectful rivalry between two babyface characters. Paige often shook hands with Lee, even after they scrapped inside the ring. The friendship now seems to be permanently over, as Paige viciously attacked Lee on WWE Monday Night Raw. Since Paige and Lee are arguably the two best, most technical female wrestlers on the WWE roster, this is a feud that could have some lasting power.

It hasn't yet been confirmed that Lee will clash with Paige at WWE SummerSlam, but that's what it appears WWE Creative has planned for the fans. Will Lee retain her WWE Divas title? That seems likely, since Paige is still a young, up-and-coming superstar. She's just 21 years old, and has plenty of time to develop her skills before taking the mantle from Lee as the face of the WWE Divas division.

With Lesnar now set to collisde with Cena and Paige feuding with Lee, the WWE now has two extremely hot angles to work with leading up to SummerSlam. The WWE will likely use the days and weeks ahead to hype the feuds, by having Lesnar confront Cena on episodes of Monday Night Raw and Smackdown. Same goes for Paige and Lee, who should have plenty of chances to squabble on camera before next month's pay-per-view spectacular.
