If anyone really knows what CM Punk is going through right now it is Mick Foley. According to PWS on Feb. 10, Foley talked about Punk walking out and discusses some of the reasons why it might have been for the best.
The biggest thing that Foley pointed out was the injuries that have been piling up for Punk over the last 10 years. He told a story about how Punk went out and tore the house down on a show and Foley said he didn't have to do so much every night, even on small house shows. He said Punk told him that if he didn't he had no reason to be there.
Foley then admitted that he stuck around longer than he should have personally because there was a point where he felt what he gave was good enough even though he was nowhere near the level that he once was. He said that CM Punk is not that kind of wrestler.
Another big reason that CM Punk allegedly left was because of his status at "Wrestlemania 30." With his contract up in July, Punk had one goal left in his career and that was to headline a Wrestlemania. When he saw that was no longer a possibility, he fell into a funk.
According to Mick Foley, when he lost his world title to The Rock the month before Wrestlemania, he broke down in tears because he realized that was probably his only chance to headline Wrestlemania and he knew it was gone. He compared himself to Daniel Bryan right now, but said that Bryan is more over now than he ever was.
