The John Cena WWE return will come sooner than expected, although he is still not expected to wrestle again until the start of 2014. According to Wrestle Zone on Sept. 12, Cena is advertised to be back in October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Of course, this soon after his surgery, Cena won’t be able to wrestle and will only be able to cut a promo during this return. As a matter of fact, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Cena did just come back for the shows to introduce the breast cancer survivors that the WWE will be showcasing during the month.
There is no way the WWE risks Cena’s recovery by putting him in any situation that would end up with physical contact. Of course, they did a great job this week in getting Edge involved with the storylines, while never allowing another wrestler to touch him.
This return, if it is for more than just to honor the breast cancer survivors, could hurt the big “surprise” the WWE has planned with Cena’s return at the “Royal Rumble.” At the moment, Cena and Sheamus are both supposed to make their in-ring returns in the Rumble itself.
Of course, John Cena is not out of the WWE universe’s eye, as his recovery is one of the main stories of the “Total Divas” TV show.
