Pro Wrestling Illustrated has counted down the Top 500 professional wrestlers in the world ever since 1991 when Hulk Hogan won the very first award. The new PWI Top 500 was released on Aug. 20 and John Cena came out on top for the third time in his career.
John Cena is the first wrestler to ever win the award three times, with Bret "The Hitman" Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Triple H as the only men who have won it twice. Cena last finished on top in back-to-back years in 2006 and 2007.
Coming in second place in the 2013 rankings is Daniel Bryan, the man who beat Cena for the WWE Championship on Sunday at "WWE SummerSlam." Both Cena and Bryan moved up two spots each from last year's rankings where CM Punk won and Bobby Roode ranked second.
CM Punk dropped to sixth place in this year's rankings while Randy Orton, the man who cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase and is the new WWE Champion ranked eighth in this year's poll.
Other notable wreslters in the poll include TNA World Champion Bully Ray, who ranks third; current WWE world champion Alberto Del Rio, who ranks seventh; TNA superstar Magnus, who ranks ninth; and WWE star Rob Van Dam at tenth.
Also in the top 10 of the PWI Top 500 are New Japan superstars Tetsuya Naito at third and Kazuchika Okada at fourth.
