In some big WWE news, John Cena came to the ring to open "WWE Monday Night Raw" on Aug. 19 to make a big announcement to the crowd. According to Cena, he will miss the next four to six months due to injury.
The injury is to Cena's elbow, which at the moment has a swelling the side of a softball. According to Cena, he said that the ball is full of fluid and he has a torn triceps. He said that he was told not to even wrestle in the "WWE SummerSlam" match against Daniel Bryan.
Cena lost that match, and lost his WWE Championship, to Daniel Bryan at "SummerSlam" but said that his injury was not the reason. He said he refused to step out of the match, even though doctors told him he needed to, and that he lost to a man who deserves to be the WWE Champion.
Cena then told the crowd that he was leaving the WWE to have surgery on his elbow. As the crowd cheered this announcement and chanted "Yes," Cena said that he would be gone between four to six months rehabbing and getting himself back into wrestling shape.
Cena finished the promo by introducing the man he said proved he deserved to be the WWE Champion in Daniel Bryan.
